TRANSFORM THE TRAIL

We are honored to work with the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation on their Transform the Trail Campaign! Wickersham is installing 25 benches along the 3-mile Memorial Health Fund Wellness Trail at UPMC Memorial. The benches were donated by generous, local sponsors along with several other items such as bird houses, memorial trees, fitness stations and more! All donations and upgrades are part of UPMC’s initiative to improve health, fitness and quality of life in York County through physical fitness.

ABOUT THE TRAIL

How did the trail come about? The walking trail previously functioned as a golf cart path when the property was owned by Hawk Lake Golf Course. When the golf course shut down, the community began to use the paths as walking trails. UPMC saw the benefit of providing walking trails for the community and hospital staff, patients and visitors and decided to make significant upgrades through the Transform the Trail campaign. There are two 1/2 mile trails and one 3 mile trail that provides respite and rejuvenation for it’s occupants.

Transformation plans include paving and widening sections of the trail, improving signage and accessibility and adding benches, greenery, fitness stations and resources for wildlife.

If you would like to sponsor a mile marker sign, trail map sign, daffodils or even a squirrel feeder, visit the Transform the Trail website here! https://www.upmcpinnaclefoundation.org/programs-and-services/health-and-wellness-initiatives/transform-the-trail
