CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

The Project Manager will be a crucial player on this local team in Lancaster, PA. This person will oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation on projects within 1-2 hours of Lancaster. The right person will be responsible to forge relationships with clients, architects, engineers, construction managers, brokers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Project leader
  • Work closely with project designers to obtain the best final project outcome for our clients
  • Finds innovative ways to mentor fellow employees to work safely, productively, and to go home each day with a sense of accomplishment
  • Be Wickersham’s daily client representative throughout the construction process
  • Take ownership of your project making good things happen and bad things go away

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar would be a plus
  • Specific experience with heavy/highway work with PennDOT or DelDOT is required for this position
  • This person must have specific experience with sitework and structural concrete in their project portfolio
    • e., knowledge of required materials, drive sheeting, heavy concrete foundations etc.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in Construction Project Management for a General Contractor is highly preferred
  • Experienced working for a company that does self-performed work
  • Experience with structural concrete, pipe and mechanical systems required.
  • Construction Estimating experience is a huge plus to be considered for this role
  • Effective computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficient with Construction Software i.e. – Microsoft Project, Procore, Google Documents/Drive, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented and organized leadership.

Compensation

  • Strong base salary from $100,000 – $120,000/year dependent on Project Portfolio
  • Annual bonus opportunity based year-end company success

SUPERINTENDENT

Compensation: commensurate with experience.
We are currently seeking a superintendent who is capable of managing individuals as well as bringing whole projects to fruition. Ideally this individual would have experience delegating tasks, managing materials, methods of construction, and interfacing with designers and architects.
Experience with wastewater treatment plants is highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated and proven track record as a superintendent
  • Have the ability to adapt and utilize experience to navigate through all phases of the projects
  • Experience with building codes, zoning ordinances, estimating, quality control, and current effective construction techniques
  • Familiarity with reports and writing
  • Ability to lead, direct, and motivate others
  • Understanding of and experience with processes typically used by subcontractors
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, walk, push, pull, and perform the physical requirements of the job
  • Ability to integrate all tasks and responsibilities of the role in an organized and controlled manner
  • Capable of passing a drug screening, physical evaluation, and background screenings in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Ability to travel as needed and work hours as required by the project
  • Superior attendance and punctual arrival time
  • A team and goal-oriented mentality, respectful of others with a positive attitude

CARPENTER FOREMAN

Compensation: commensurate with experience.
Our experienced team of Carpenter Foremen are experts in carpentry and concrete, working within a large variety of major commercial markets local to the Lancaster, PA area.

Responsibilities:

  • Completely understands all of a carpenter’s and laborer’s duties and skills
  • Reads and interprets up-to-date plans and specifications
  • Estimates materials and labor needed for construction in coordination with others, and advises the Superintendent
  • Follows OM instructions on the installation of materials and equipment
  • Knowledge of rigging practices
  • Concrete forming, framing, doors, hardware, rough finish carpentry, pour/finish concrete, pipe installation
  • Understands basic concepts and methods used by subcontractors
  • Motivates subordinates, subcontractors, and others for top performance
  • Instructs and trains employees, subcontractors, and others in approved methods of construction
  • Leads fellow employees by example
  • Delegates responsibilities to subordinates and is responsible for their performance
  • Responsible for establishing and enforcing safety measures
  • Establishes quality control standards and supervises their implementation
  • Order, inspect, and verify the quantity and quality of materials and supplies
  • Acts as a liaison between Wickersham and others
  • Solves problems and works with employees to complete required tasks
  • Makes quick, accurate decisions and takes responsibility for decisions
  • Attends seminars and training sessions for continuous improvement
  • Maintains a high degree of integrity and loyalty towards Wickersham and works with others for the same
  • Responsible for maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Integrates all of these tasks into an organized, controlled, smooth flowing system
  • Performs whatever other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Residential experience highly desirable
  • 5+ years of relatable construction and/or carpentry experience and high school diploma
  • Relatable degree, certifications, and/or higher education (preferred)
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, walk, push, pull, and perform the physical requirements of a similar job
  • Ability to integrate all tasks and responsibilities of the role in an organized and controlled manner

HEAVY CONSTRUCTION CARPENTER

Compensation: $18 – $36/hr.
Our experienced team of heavy construction carpenters are experts in carpentry and concrete, working within a large variety of major commercial markets local to the Lancaster, PA area.

Experience in heavy construction carpentry with wastewater and water treatment is highly desired.
Responsibilities:

  • General tradesmen and construction duties including but not limited to: carpentry, wall framing, door framing, door and hardware installation finish carpentry, drywall, painting concrete, rigging, piping, equipment setting and heavy equipment operation
  • Possess the ability to understand and execute work related instructions and methods
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and supporting member of the entire Wickersham team
  • Maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and other company property
  • Wears and maintains proper safety equipment as required
  • Push, pull, and load/unload tools, equipment, and materials
  • Carries and uses trade associated tools, equipment, and materials up to a weight of 95 pounds
  • Working at heights within confined or enclosed spaces as necessary to the job
  • Additional duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Residential experience highly desirable
  • 5+ years of relatable construction and/or carpentry experience and high school diploma
  • Relatable degree, certifications, and/or higher education (preferred)
